Special thanks to @reidsrebels for making this year extra special.
See you in 2025!
This year we're partnering with @reidsrebels! This is a cause near and dear to our hearts since @reidsrebels was founded in memory of Reid Landry Garrant, a Pentucket alum who died of leukemia in 2018.
Established shortly after his death, the Reid Landry Garrant foundation has been donating funds to families who need help at a very difficult time. Help us make this our best year yet and help as many people as possible! Please register or donate to the Jamaco River Run. See you on Race Day!
The Jamaco River Run is a 501(c)(3) charity event that raises much needed money for youth sports. It is 100% volunteer based, meaning every penny of the proceeds go directly to youth sports organizations. In addition, the race donates 15% of all proceeds back to its host town - beautiful Merrimac.
The name Jamaco pays homage to the history of our wonderful home town. The area we now refer to as Merrimac was originally settled in 1638 by English settlers as part of Salisbury. After Amesbury separated from Salisbury in 1666, the West Parish of Amesbury was commonly referred to as "Jamaco". Though the name Jamaco eventually gave way to Merrimac, we think it has a nice ring to it.
